Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Clofazimine is a riminophenazine antimicrobial with antimycobacterial and antiinflammatory properties. It intercalates into bacterial DNA, disrupts replication and induces reactive oxygen species through redox cycling. Its antiinflammatory benefits derive from inhibition of neutrophil chemotaxis.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in mycobacterialdisease research (e.g., *M. leprae*, *M. abscessus*), intracellularpathogen modelling, redoxsignalling studies, hostimmune modulation experiments and macrophagepharmacology research.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include redbrown skin discoloration, GI discomfort, hepatic dysfunction, QT prolongation and deposition in fatty tissues. Handle with pigmentingdrug precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
