Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Clindamycin phosphate is a watersoluble prodrug converted by phosphatases to active clindamycin. It retains full lincosamide mechanisms: 50S ribosomal binding and inhibition of transpeptidation and elongation. The phosphate form is useful for parenteral and topical formulations.

Used in prodrugactivation studies, ribosomalbinding assays, anaerobicinfection modelling, toxininhibition research and PK/PD optimisation.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, hypersensitivity, hepatotoxicity and GI irritation. Handle with lincosamide precautions.
