Chlorprothiazol edysilate is a sedative and antispasmodic compound acting through CNS depression and smooth-muscle relaxation. It modulates GABAergic neurotransmission and inhibits excessive neural excitability, producing anxiolytic and calming effects. Its antispasmodic activity results from central and peripheral neuromuscular modulation.
