Mechanism of Action
Cethexonium bromide is a quaternary ammonium compound functioning as a ganglionic blocker. It inhibits nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in autonomic ganglia, reducing sympathetic and parasympathetic transmission. This leads to decreased vascular tone, reduced GI motility and modulation of smooth‑muscle activity.
