Product Description
Mechanism of action
Cefotiam hydrochloride is a secondgeneration cephalosporin with strong activity against respiratory and urinary pathogens. It binds PBPs, blocking transpeptidase activity and disrupting bacterial cell-wall synthesis. It shows enhanced stability against certain lactamases compared to earlier cephalosporins.
Benefits and advantages
Used in respiratory-pathogen research, urinary-infection models, lactam SAR analysis, gram-negative susceptibility studies, and lactamase-stability investigations. Its dual gram-positive/negative profile makes it suitable for broad-spectrum infection modelling.
Side effects and risks
Risks include allergic reactions, GI upset, mild hepatotoxicity, rare haematologic changes and injection-site irritation. Handle with lactam antimicrobial safety measures.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
