Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Cefaloglicin is an early-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits PBPs, disrupting bacterial cell-wall peptidoglycan synthesis and promoting osmotic lysis. It shows stronger activity against gram-positive organisms with limited gram-negative coverage.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in β-lactam mechanism comparisons, gram-positive PBPs studies, cephalosporin historical SAR research, MIC profiling and early cephalosporin pharmacology modelling.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include hypersensitivity, GI irritation and occasional haematological changes. Handle under β-lactam antibiotic precautions.
