Product Description
Mechanism of action
Caspofungin is an echinocandin antifungal that inhibits β‑(1,3)‑D‑glucan synthase, an essential enzyme for fungal cell‑wall glucan polymerisation. This weakens the fungal cell wall, causing osmotic fragility and lysis. It is fungicidal against *Candida* species and fungistatic against *Aspergillus* by inhibiting hyphal growth.
