Product Description

Mechanism of action

Synthetic camphor is chemically identical to natural camphor but produced via industrial synthesis. It modulates TRPV3/TRPA1 ion channels, alters nociceptive signalling, increases local microcirculation and produces characteristic cooling and counterirritant responses.

Benefits and advantages

Used in sensory-neuroscience research, TRP-ion-channel pharmacology, dermal-irritation modelling, topical-formulation studies and analgesic-terpenoid SAR investigations.

Side effects and risks

Risks include irritation, CNS effects at high systemic doses, allergic reactions and respiratory sensitisation. Handle under aromatic-terpenoid compound protocols.
