Product Description
Mechanism of action
Buspirone is an anxiolytic agent that acts as a partial agonist at serotonin 5HTA receptors, reducing presynaptic serotonin release and modulating downstream serotonergic tone. It also exhibits mild dopamine D receptor affinity without producing sedation, dependence or major psychomotor impairment. The anxiolytic effect arises from modulation of limbic-system signalling rather than GABAergic pathways targeted by benzodiazepines.
Benefits and advantages
Used in anxiety-pathway research, serotonin-autoreceptor studies, limbic neurocircuit modelling, dopaminergicserotonergic interaction research and behavioural-pharmacology investigations. A key reference drug distinguishing non-sedative anxiolysis from GABA-mediated sedation.
Side effects and risks
Risks include dizziness, nausea, headache, restlessness, mild tachycardia and rare serotonin-related interactions. Handle as a CNS-active serotonergic compound.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
