Product Description

Mechanism of action

Bromopride is a dopamine D₂‑receptor antagonist structurally similar to metoclopramide. It increases gastrointestinal motility by removing dopaminergic inhibition of cholinergic activity in the enteric nervous system and enhances gastric emptying and lower‑oesophageal‑sphincter tone.

Benefits and advantages

Used in GI‑motility research, D₂‑receptor pharmacology, antiemetic‑mechanism modelling, prokinetic‑agent development and enteric neuroscience studies.

Side effects and risks

Risks include extrapyramidal symptoms, dystonia, hyperprolactinaemia, sedation, QT prolongation and GI distress. Handle with dopamine‑antagonist safety precautions.
