Product Description

Mechanism of action

Bromazinum is an antihistaminic and sedative agent structurally related to classical H₁‑antihistamines. It blocks H₁‑receptors, reducing histamine‑mediated vasodilation, vascular permeability and sensory‑nerve activation. It also has central sedative properties attributed to mild anticholinergic and sodium‑channel–modulating effects.

Benefits and advantages

Used in allergy‑mechanism studies, histamine‑receptor pharmacology, pruritus models, antihistamine SAR analysis, and research involving sedative–anticholinergic interactions. Helpful for mapping peripheral vs central H₁‑receptor actions.

Side effects and risks

Risks include sedation, anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, blurred vision), dizziness, GI upset and rare hypersensitivity. Handle under CNS‑active–compound precautions.
