Product Description

Mechanism of action

Bifonazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits cytochrome P450dependent lanosterol 14-demethylase, a key enzyme in ergosterol biosynthesis. Unlike many azoles, bifonazole also inhibits additional steps in sterol synthesis, giving it a broader effect on fungal membrane integrity.

Benefits and advantages

Used in dermatology research, antifungal drug-development studies, ergosterol-pathway modelling, membrane-permeability assays and imidazole SAR investigations. Effective against dermatophytes, yeasts and moulds, making it useful in wide-spectrum testing.

Side effects and risks

Possible risks include local irritation, erythema, burning sensation and hypersensitivity. Handle with antifungal-compound PPE.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
