Product Description
Mechanism of action
Betaxolol is a highly selective adrenergic receptor antagonist that reduces cardiac output by decreasing heart rate, contractility and renin release. Its selectivity minimises bronchoconstrictive effects compared with nonselective betablockers. Betaxolol also exhibits mild membranestabilising activity and calciumchannelmodulating effects, which contribute to reduced intraocular pressure when used in ocular formulations.
Benefits and advantages
Widely used in cardiovascular research, receptor selectivity studies, intraocularpressure pharmacology, glaucoma models, reninangiotensin regulation experiments and electrophysiological mapping of adrenergic signalling. A standard comparator for nextgeneration cardioselective blockers.
Side effects and risks
Risks include bradycardia, hypotension, fatigue, conduction abnormalities and rare bronchospasm. Handle with cardiovascularactive compound precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
