Mechanism of action
Bestatin (ubenimex) is a potent inhibitor of aminopeptidase B and leucine aminopeptidase, preventing the removal of N-terminal amino acids from peptide substrates. This modulation affects immune signalling, cytokine processing and tumour-cell proliferation. Bestatin indirectly influences pathways involving antigen presentation and lymphocyte activation.
